Historic Hotel Property Embracing Modern Technology While Honoring Tradition

PRINCETON, NEW JERSEY -

We're excited to spotlight our customer Nassau Inn, a historic hotel property located across the street from Princeton University (NJ), that exemplifies the beauty of blending tradition with innovation. Established in 1776 and operational in its current location since 1937, this remarkable hotel has transformed from a modest 60-room establishment to a charming 188-room haven for guests. One of the hotel's standout features is its legendary Yankee Doodle Tap Room, where notable personalities such as Albert Einstein, Christopher Reeve, Jeff Bezos, and numerous entrepreneurs, politicians and astronauts have graced its presence. And where a Norman Rockwell original painting adorns the bar. This rich history serves as a backdrop to the modern enhancements that the property continues to implement.

Recently, the hotel upgraded its guest room locks, starting with the original Tesa mechanical system to the current state-of-the-art Onity Bluetooth-enabled lock system. This progressive upgrade was driven by the need for technology advancements and enhanced security across the property. Now, the locks are not only suitable for guest rooms but can be utilized on a variety of doors throughout the venue, providing a streamlined, efficient method for updating locks across multiple locations.

“With our new system, staff can now manage keys without relying solely on physical keys, and the portable programmer allows for comprehensive control over access across the entire hotel,” says Frank O’Reilly, Director of Operations, Nassau Inn. “An impressive office mode feature enhances security, while the overall time and labor required to manage locks have significantly dropped, enabling staff to dedicate more attention to guest services.”

Proudly part of Historic Hotels of America, Nassau Inn exemplifies how honoring history and embracing modern solutions can lead to exceptional guest experiences.
